"Sunshine and Starlight"

It's summer in Baja. With warm days and cool nights, our stay in Mexico is nearing it's end. We'll be leaving in less than two weeks. The time has flown by with lots of painting and work projects! Sunshine, ocean breezes, and gorgeous sunsets have made our stay super enjoyable! I'll tell you about our Mexico stay and my new paintings as well as my Featured Artist who is multi-talented! In her own words she says she "creates functional, accessible artwork from unique sustainable materials. My mission is to turn ephemera into keepsakes."

I am so enjoying being able to paint while we're in Mexico. There's beautiful light and good vibes here to inspire me.

Since we've been here, I've completed atleast 9 new paintings and a couple recycled whimsical, garden art pieces which are really fun and colorful. You can read about it on my blog.

My baja art studio is getting a makeover with walls and big windows. It will be wonderful! Some of the windows were installed today and I can't wait to see it finished this week! Check my blog next week for photos.

I have to admit though I haven't completed everything I said I would. My mini paintings are still in the works. And my art videos are still in production. In one of them I'll be showing you how six of my new Magical Woodlands paintings evolved from start to finish. And another will have a new technique you can use in your own painting. So stay tuned.

Whimsy, magic and color dance in my world! I've been imagining different scenes my birch trees can live in. Six of them have come to life as new paintings in my Magical Woodlands series. I also have turtles and whales swimming through my head but those are for other paintings yet to come.

Here is a sneak peek of two of them.

My Etsy Shop will be re-opening June 30th. You can order my whimsical artwork from it now and I'll be shipping things upon my return to Oregon the beginning of July. Also in July I'll be adding some of my new Magical Woodlands birch tree paintings as open edition prints.

You can still find my originals, prints and cards at the Tumalo Art Co. gallery in Bend, Oregon. Some of my birch tree paintings will be making themselves available as greeting cards soon. But that will be later in the summer.

Amy Tan at The Treespace Studio is my Featured Artist for June. I can't remember how I came across Amy's work but I do know that I love it!

I bought one of her "Dream Big" cards to give to a friend and I almost didn't send it because I wanted to keep it for myself. Amy's art inspires me!

You can find her keepsake cards in her Etsy Shop. Or catch up with what's she's doing on her Facebook page or Blog.

Amy not only creates fun artwork, but her Facebook page says she also specializes "in design consultation, custom artwork stationery and low-volume printing, with an emphasis on personalized services and affordability.

The TreeSpace Studio enjoys helping emerging businesses, individuals, as well as crafters express their uniqueness without breaking the bank. Products include: Illustrated paper goods, custom wedding stationery, personalized gifts, custom illustrated packaging and design solutions, and a custom designed small business promotional kit."

"Then one day I sang my song and I knew why I was happy..."
~ Author Unknown

I love the idea that we each have a song to sing. Metaphorically speaking that is (because my song voice is not always in tune). But I do believe we each have a path to follow and a song to sing that will bring us true happiness! Mine is painting and I sure am enjoying doing it! I think it helps to surround yourself with the people and things that inspire you. I hope you can find the song you were meant to sing and find laughter, love and happiness along the way!
Thank you for reading my e-Newsletter and supporting my art. Wishing you all the best things in life! See you in July with more art news!
