Greetings! Summer has finally arrived in Bend, Oregon! We've had some hot summer days and we've been enjoying mt. biking and the summer Bend festivals. In this newsletter I have some new bird paintings to let you know about, some new things in my Etsy Shop and there is an artist from Portland that I've discovered and want to share with you. Enjoy!

I've created six new whimsical bird paintings on wood box frames that can go on the wall, sit on top of a piece of furniture or go in that empty spot on your bookshelf. They have vivid swirly colors and lines and I'm using my new technique with the white patterned dots. The sides of the box frame ranges from 1.25" to 4" and I've painted some designs or borders on most of them.

I think they're really fun and I hope you enjoy looking at them!

My Etsy Shop is up and running! I'm very excited about it. I'm trying to add things everyday to it, so check back often and see what's new. Maybe you'll find something for yourself or something perfect to give as a gift. I will have more original paintings there soon and I'm working on a painted floor cloth that I will post for sale once it is finished. My six new whimsical bird paintings are available as open edition prints and you'll find many of my other bird paintings there as well. Check out my art at Etsy here>

Almost all my paintings have a story behind them. I like telling stories with my art. Most of the time I like the viewer to make up their own story about my paintings. But I thought I would share a story about a painting in each Newsletter so you can learn a little more about what goes on as I paint.

This painting titled "Two Together Under the Moon" was originally created as a commission piece. A very nice man wanted to give his spouse a parrot painting as a gift. I created 3 paintings because I had so many ideas! In this one, I wanted to show a pair of parrots together to represent "True Love". I wanted it to have a sort of ancient feeling as if these two birds have been together for a very long time. I think of them as being shelter for each other and being under romantic moonlight gives it a bit of mystic feeling as I think all love has some alchemy to it. I was pretty happy with it, capturing the feeling I wanted to create.

This painting is available as a print in my Etsy Shop, see it here>
