Greetings and Happy New Year! I always like this time of year because to me, it's a fresh start to a hopeful New Year and new goals to be accomplished. I savor new beginnings. It also means the days are getting longer, so more light! I hope this Newsletter can bring a little creative energy to warm your spirit and brighten your day! I have some new paintings and prints to share, some exhibit news and the wonderful Featured Artist this month creates beautiful black and white ceramics with a touch of color!
GARDEN PAINTINGS
I'm working on my Garden Series. In my Etsy Shop are some colorful, new prints and one is of my "Meditation Garden" painting below. The original is also available for sale on my website. Gardens celebrate Life and growth! Flowers, seeds, sprouts, nature, sunshine, birds, renewal...these are things that inspire me and I celebrate in my Art! Some of the paintings will have birds mingling with garden imagery.

Exhibit at the Gallery at the Lodge, Black Butte Ranch, Oregon
I have a show up of my art at the Gallery at the Lodge at Black Butte Ranch in Sisters, Oregon. To celebrate, there will be an Artist Reception on Saturday, January 30th from 4-6 pm. With wine and light hors d'oeuvres, it will be a fun time! I have titled the show "Whimsical Worlds". There will be art prints, notecards, and bookmarks for sale at the Artist Reception too!
There are paintings with my Native American motifs, whimsical birds and some of my colorful abstracts. The show runs through February. I hope you will be able to stop by if you're in Central Oregon and check out my show at the lovely Gallery at the Lodge.

Ceramics artist, Shoshona Snow, is my Featured Artist this month. I found Shonshona online through her Etsy Shop. She sells all kinds of original things like bird shaped bowls and organic shaped candle holders and all are food, microwave and dishwasher safe. Shoshona inspires me with her use of pattern and her touches of color which you'll see inside a mug or vase, like the color magic on this snowflake. She also has an interesting blog where you can learn about her process and how she does what she does.

I made a new whimsical bird bookmark for sale in my Etsy Shop. I chose three of my favorite bird images to make this bookmark. I think it came out sweet. I have to admit I've got a bookmark fetish going on here...they're all over my house! On the fridge, on the window sill in my art studio, in my books next to the bed and attached to the wall above my computer desk. I love these little spots of whimsical imagery, a little feast of color for my eyes to hit during the day. Won't you bring one of these little colorful pictures into your life too?
I have a lot of hopes and goals for 2010! And one of them is to continue with this Art Newsletter! I hope you are enjoying it!
